Apparently, some Mizzou fans are planning to make NMT shirts for the KU/MU game next week.
What are NMT shirts? NMT stands for “No Mom Tom,” referencing Thomas Robinson’s tragic and sudden loss of his mother last year.
Look, I get that KU and MU are rivals. I get that there’s bad blood. I won’t deny that KU fans have made their fair share of underhanded comments too. But most comments I’ve seen from KU fans have been in reference to something an MU player or coach has done themselves, like a DUI or having stupid facial hair or being a scary human being in general. But mocking someone because their parent died? That’s disgusting. I don’t understand how a single person could think that was a good idea, let alone get enough support from friends to think it’s solid enough to make shirts. I’m really, really hoping this is a rumor that turns out to be untrue, because I don’t think there’s anything more reprehensible than making fun of someone because they experienced something like that, especially the tragedy T-Rob went through.
